History

Paramakudi ITI has been started by Government of Tamilnadu on 17th August 1962 as per G.O. Ms. No. 4171. And which is affiliated to the National Council for Vocational Training in carrying out the training policy laid down by National Council, New Delhi. This is one of the Nodal ITI.

The total land of the institute is 27 Acre and 69cent. The Institute has main administrative building, Workshop, Computer Lab with internet connectivity and class rooms. The Institute also has boy’s hostel which has intake capacity of one hundred students.

Courses offered at the ITI are broadly divided into two namely engineering and non- engineering trades. The following trades that belong to the engineering category are Turner, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Welder, Carpenter, Wireman and fitter. The following trade that belong to the non engineering category is COPA

Sanctioned Technical Staff and Ministerial staff are 62 Nos.

Sanctioned strength of students are 399 Nos.
